About Andy

My name is Andrew VanWagoner, and I am originally from Taylorsville, Utah, USA. I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world, Julie Ann VanWagoner (formerly Crooks). We have two great kids, Abby and Aaron.

I am afraid my pen name the TaleCrafter might be somewhat misleading, because I make my living as a web UI engineer. However, in 2000 I began writing a fantasy book. I was slow in writing, but I enjoyed it, and my friends and family loved it. In 2003 had over 200 pages written when I left for Brazil. When I came back two years later I reread it, was completely dissatisfied with it, and started over. Due to getting married, having children, going to college, and now working full-time, I have spent little time on my book, The Brothers of Linester.

Of the posts you will find here, a few of them will deal with my book, a few will be discussions about our society, as I perceive it, or about various neat tidbits I pick up here and there, but most of them will be about JavaScript.

Just a note, my family descended from John Halmagh Van Wagoner, whose family came from Wageningen, Holland. So, to you other Van Wagoners, VanWagoners, and Van Wagenens out there, if that name rings a bell, we’re probably related.
